Upvote
A board where participants say what they want. Each person proposes topics, votes for the ones they support (one vote per topic, which can be taken back) and comments, and the most voted rise. The team responds by changing each topic’s status, Planned, In progress, Done or Archived with the reason, merges duplicates without counting a vote twice, and whoever voted is told by e-mail. The board reads as a list or in columns, and in a public space anyone can read it, even without an account.

A customer community for a software product
Customers propose improvements and vote on each other’s. The product team marks the chosen ones as Planned, then In progress and Done, with the release note, and every customer who voted gets the e-mail the day the improvement ships.
- What the community wants, in order
- Most voted, newest or trending over the last 7 days. The team stops guessing what matters and sees how many people asked for each thing.
- Showing what got done
- Each status change carries a note for whoever voted, such as “shipped in the March release”. The board in columns becomes the community’s public roadmap.
- No repeated topics
- While the title is typed, the board shows similar topics that already exist, with Vote for this one. Whatever slips through, the team merges into the original, and the votes go with it.
- Approval when needed
- With prior approval on, a topic only shows up after the team approves it. Who voted for each topic, only the team sees.

Visibility
Like every space, this one is public, members only or subscribers only — the choice is per space, and the space is the authority on what can be reached from it.
