Channel
The group conversation in real time, with the newest message at the bottom, like a chat. Each message can turn into a thread with its replies, takes reactions with any emoji and mentions with @, and carries photos or a video, even one recorded on the spot. One space is one channel: #general, #announcements and #class-2026 are three spaces, grouped in a menu section, and unread messages show next to each name. Whoever cannot write reads and reacts.

A graduate program class
The #class-announcements channel is for the coordinators only, and everyone reacts when the room changes. In #questions, someone asks about Saturday’s assignment, the answer goes to the thread, and whoever joined the class later finds it all there, without asking anyone to forward a screenshot of the group.
- The messaging group comes back inside
- Whoever joins the space already finds the history, opens at the first unread message and does not depend on someone adding their number. The team moderates right there, deleting what does not belong.
- Threads, so the topic is not lost
- The reply goes to the message’s thread, beside the channel on a computer and full screen on a phone. Whoever replied or was mentioned follows the thread and gets the replies in the bell.
- An announcements channel, without the noise
- In Who can post, choose the team or only the admins: the rest of the community reads and reacts, and the announcement is not lost among a hundred replies.
- Whoever did not open it finds out
- A mention and a reply in a thread you follow arrive in the bell and, if left unread, by e-mail. Each person turns that e-mail off whenever they like.
