What Circle does well
- Unlimited members on every plan: on member count, it scales better than Memberfy’s tiers.
- Apps for iOS, Android and desktop from the first plan, and a branded app on Circle Plus.
- A broad product: courses, live events, website, member directory, gamification and email marketing in one place.
- A 1% transaction fee on the Business and Scale plans.
When to choose each one
Choose Circle if
- your members pay by card, in dollars or euros, and many of them are outside Brazil;
- the community is very large and member count is what drives the bill;
- an app in the app stores is a must.
Choose Memberfy if
- your members are in Brazil and pay their subscription with PIX, boleto or card in installments;
- you want prices in reais and a fee that already includes payment processing;
- the team running the community is large and you do not want to pay per admin, moderator or space;
- you want the community without the platform’s branding from R$ 99.
Frequently asked questions
- Does Circle accept Pix?
- Yes, with limits: only with a Brazilian Stripe account, only for one-time payments, between R$ 0.50 and R$ 15,000, and through a Stripe early-access program. Subscriptions and installments still require a card, and boleto does not appear in its documentation. On Memberfy, PIX, boleto and card in up to 12× installments are at checkout on every plan.
- What is the difference between Circle’s Stripe and Memberfy’s Stone?
- Stripe is the best choice for selling worldwide: it is global, easy for developers and strong in card subscriptions and multiple currencies. Stone is built for the Brazilian market: native PIX and boleto, split payments to divide each sale, and local support. If your members are in Brazil, it is what decides whether the sale goes through on PIX or boleto.
- Does Circle’s fee include payment processing?
- No. Circle charges its own fee (2% on Professional, 1% on Business and Scale) and Stripe charges its fee on top. On Memberfy, the 6.99% + R$ 2.49 per sale already includes processing, with any payment method.
- Does Circle limit the number of members?
- No: every Circle plan has unlimited members. On Memberfy the plan goes by member limit — from 100, on Starter, to 20,000, on Scale — and above that each pack of 2,000 members adds R$ 99 a month.
- Does Memberfy have an app like Circle?
- Not in the stores. Memberfy is a website that installs on the phone’s home screen and opens full screen. If an app on the App Store and Google Play is a must, Circle has one.
