MemberKit alternatives: courses, community and billing in one place, from US$ 10 a month

Quick summary

Memberfy is the best MemberKit alternative if you want the members area and billing in one place. MemberKit does not take payments, so it always needs Hotmart, Eduzz, Kiwify or another checkout next to it. Memberfy has its own checkout that opens and closes access by itself, hosts your course video, and goes beyond a forum with 30 space types, plus an MCP server with 959 tools that acts, not just reads, on every plan, from US$ 10 a month. Two caveats: outside Brazil, charging your members in US dollars by card is still coming, and MemberKit stays strong for anyone who already sells through a Brazilian checkout and only wants the members area.

  • Billing: Memberfy’s own checkout opens and closes access with the payment; MemberKit takes no payments and needs Hotmart, Eduzz, Monetizze or another checkout next to it.
  • Price: up to 1,000 members, US$ 19 a month on Memberfy, annual billing, plus 6.99% + US$ 1.00 per sale; on MemberKit, R$ 197 a month (or R$ 1,970 a year) on Essencial, plus the connected checkout’s fee.
  • Courses and community: video uploaded to Memberfy itself, quizzes and certificates, and 30 space types, such as feed, real-time channel, ticketed events and networking; on MemberKit, video lives on YouTube, Vimeo or Panda Video, and the community is a forum.
  • AI: an MCP server with 959 tools that read and run the community, on every plan; MemberKit’s MCP server is read-only.
  • Where MemberKit wins: it connects to nearly every Brazilian checkout, charges no fee of its own per sale and has plans for up to 500,000 members.

Why so many people look for a MemberKit alternative

MemberKit is one of the best-known members areas in Brazil for course sellers: a Netflix-style showcase, quizzes, certificates on your own template with a QR code, search inside video captions, gamification, white label and a custom domain on every plan. Its prices are published on its site, and it is a good product.

What weighs most is that it does not take payments. Its own help center says you need an external platform to receive payments online. In practice that means two bills, two accounts and an integration so access opens on purchase and closes when a subscription goes unpaid: R$ 197 a month on Essencial, plus the checkout’s fee, such as Hotmart’s 9.9% + R$ 2.49 per sale or Kiwify’s 8.99% + R$ 2.49.

More appears over time. Video does not live on MemberKit: it has to sit on YouTube, Vimeo, Panda Video or another service. Every registered member counts toward the plan’s cap, active or not, and each extra member costs R$ 0.30. The community is a question-and-answer forum, with no real-time channel or events. And the AI assistant’s credits are sold separately, in one-off packs.[1,2,3,4,5]

How to choose a MemberKit alternative

Six questions that separate the platforms on this list. Answer them before you look at the price.

Who takes the payment
If the checkout belongs to the platform, access follows billing with no integration. If not, you pay for and maintain two tools.
The total cost, not just the plan
Add the plan, the fee per sale and the checkout’s fee. Platforms with no monthly fee usually charge more per sale; with a monthly fee, less.
Where the video lives
Hosting on the platform saves one more account and one more bill on a video service.
A real community or lesson comments
Forum, feed, real-time channel, events and networking are different things. Check what your students will use every day.
Brand, domain and app
Which plan brings your own domain, when the platform’s branding comes off, and whether the app is in the stores or installs from the phone’s home screen.
API, webhooks and AI
If you connect a CRM or want to run the members area by talking to an AI, check whether the AI only reads or also acts.

The alternatives, one by one

1. Memberfy

Best for: Selling courses, community and events with the members area and billing in one place, on your own domain

What it does well

  • Its own checkout: no second platform to receive payments, and access opens and closes with the payment by itself.
  • One fee per sale (6.99% + US$ 1.00), payment processing included and the same with any payment method.
  • Courses with video uploaded to the platform (up to 500 MB, private), graded quizzes, required order, release by date and certificates with public verification.
  • 30 space types, among them feed, real-time channel, events with tickets and check-in, gallery, networking and store, plus gamification with points, levels and badges, e-mail campaigns and workflows that send e-mail, WhatsApp and SMS.
  • An MCP server with 959 tools on every plan: the community read and run from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, with the connecting person’s role and a confirmation before anything touches money.
  • Your own domain on every plan, a public API, 101 webhook event types and ready-made integrations; the Memberfy branding comes off from Growth, at US$ 19.

Limitations

  • Outside Brazil, charging your members in US dollars, by card, is still coming.
  • No affiliate program or co-production, common on Hotmart and Kiwify.
  • Not on the App Store or Google Play: it installs on the phone’s home screen with the community’s name and icon and sends notifications.
  • Plans go by member limit (100, 1,000, 5,000 and 20,000); above that, US$ 19 for every 2,000.

Pricing model

From US$ 10 (Starter, up to 100 members) to US$ 99 (Scale, up to 20,000) a month on annual billing, billed in US dollars outside Brazil, plus 6.99% + US$ 1.00 per sale, payment processing included. Unlimited admins and moderators on every plan. SMS from Growth and WhatsApp from Business, with a monthly quota.

Verdict: The best MemberKit alternative for anyone who wants to stop stitching two platforms together: billing, courses with hosted video and a full community in one place, on your own domain, from US$ 10 a month. If affiliates selling your course are the core of the business, Hotmart and Kiwify fit better.

2. Hotmart Club

Best for: Course creators who sell through affiliates and want a members area with no monthly fee

What it does well

  • No monthly or sign-up fee.
  • A checkout with more than 40 payment methods in 22 currencies, including card, boleto and Pix.
  • Streaming-style courses with its own player, watermark and automatic certificate.
  • Communities with live sessions and gamification, and Hotmart Tutor, an AI that answers students based on the lessons.
  • An API and webhooks for custom integrations.

Limitations

  • 9.9% + R$ 2.49 per approved sale, on any product.
  • Standard payout in 30 days; earlier only with a paid advance.
  • Its site does not mention a custom domain; customization is through style options.

Pricing model

Members areas are free. Hotmart charges 9.9% + R$ 2.49 per approved sale (down to 8.9% from R$ 500 thousand a year in sales). Payout in 30 days; a 2-day advance costs 3.59%.[6,7,8,9,10]

Verdict: If Hotmart is already MemberKit’s checkout, its own members area removes the second monthly bill. When the community is the product and the brand has to be yours, Memberfy puts everything on your domain, with a lower fee per sale, plus the plan.

3. Kiwify

Best for: Selling and delivering a course with no monthly fee, with affiliates and fast payouts

What it does well

  • No monthly fee: you pay only when you sell.
  • Its own checkout with card, boleto and PIX, subscriptions included, 1-click upsell, co-production and affiliates.
  • Free, unlimited members areas, with video hosting at no extra cost and completion certificates.
  • A student app on the App Store and Google Play.
  • A public API and webhooks, with a ready integration even with MemberKit itself.

Limitations

  • 8.99% + R$ 2.49 per sale.
  • A custom domain only on the Completa members area; the default Lite has none.
  • Community only as lesson comments: no feed or forum appears on its site.

Pricing model

No monthly fee. 8.99% + R$ 2.49 per sale; card paid out in 15 days, boleto and Pix in 2 days, with an option to receive card sales in 2 days.[11,12,13,14]

Verdict: A natural move for anyone using Kiwify as MemberKit’s checkout who only needs to deliver the course. When students need community, events and networking, Memberfy brings them together with billing.

4. Eduzz

Best for: Selling courses, mentoring and subscriptions and paying only when you sell

What it does well

  • No monthly fee: the fee exists only when there is a sale.
  • A checkout with Pix, boleto and card, installments and payment split across cards; subscriptions on Pix Automático, card and boleto.
  • Eduzz Membros is free, with video hosted on SafeVideo, learning paths, mentoring and an app with offline access.
  • International billing in more than 130 currencies.
  • An API and webhooks documented on its Developer Portal.

Limitations

  • R$ 2.49 per sale plus 4.9% (Básico), 6.9% (Intermediário) or 4.59% (Unity, from R$ 1 million a year), and a 3.49% charge on installments.
  • Schools limited by plan: 1 on Básico and 3 on Intermediário.
  • In the members area, the community is comments and discussions moderated by the creator.

Pricing model

No monthly fee. R$ 2.49 per sale plus 4.9%, 6.9% or 4.59%, depending on the plan; payout in 30 or 15 days, and a R$ 1.99 withdrawal fee.[15,16,17,18]

Verdict: Strong for recurring revenue and selling in many currencies, and on Básico the fee per sale is lower than Memberfy’s. When the community is the product, with a feed, a real-time channel and ticketed events on your domain, Memberfy is more complete.

5. Cademí

Best for: Switching members areas while keeping your current checkout, even more than one

What it does well

  • Connects more than 77 payment gateways, several at once, opening access in the same area.
  • Exams, certificates, scheduled content and protection with the student’s name on PDFs and videos.
  • An app installable from the browser with your name and icon, and the option to link your own Android app.
  • An API, a webhook on every event, and an MCP server that runs the account with approval before data changes.

Limitations

  • The price is not on its site: the path is to create an account or talk to a specialist.
  • It does not charge students: as with MemberKit, payment stays with the gateway.
  • A custom domain only as a subdomain; a root domain is not accepted.
  • Community as comments, questions and gamification; no feed or student groups appear on its site.

Pricing model

Not published. According to its help center, the plan has a monthly or yearly price and a student cap, or is unlimited; admins do not count.[19,20,21,22,23]

Verdict: The alternative closest to MemberKit, with an AI that also acts. To stop depending on an outside checkout, Memberfy brings the members area and billing together, with a published price.

6. Circle

Best for: Communities with unlimited members and apps in the stores, charging by card

What it does well

  • Community, courses, live events, website and email marketing in one product.
  • Unlimited members on every plan.
  • Circle’s app for iOS and Android.
  • Circle’s own paywalls, with a Stripe account.
  • Circle MCP, to use the community with AI.

Limitations

  • In Brazil, PIX works only for one-time payments, on a Brazilian Stripe account; subscriptions and installments go on card.
  • A 2% fee on Professional, on top of Stripe’s fees.
  • Circle’s branding comes off and MCP comes in only from Business, at US$ 199 a month on annual billing.

Pricing model

Professional US$ 89 and Business US$ 199 a month on annual billing, with unlimited members; a fee from 2% to 0.5% depending on the plan, plus Stripe’s fees.[24,25,26,27,28]

Verdict: A good community, but pricier for anyone coming from MemberKit. Memberfy costs less, with unlimited admins and the MCP server on every plan.

7. Skool

Best for: Creators who want a community and a course live in minutes, charging in US dollars

What it does well

  • Very simple to set up: community, courses and calendar in one place.
  • Unlimited members, courses, videos and live calls on both plans.
  • Gamification with points and levels that unlock courses.
  • Skool’s own checkout, with no Stripe account needed.

Limitations

  • Every price is in US dollars and members pay in dollars, by card; PIX and boleto do not appear in its help center.
  • A 10% + 30¢ transaction fee on Hobby.
  • A custom group URL only on Pro; its help center does not mention a custom domain.

Pricing model

Hobby US$ 9 a month (10% + 30¢ per transaction) and Pro US$ 99 a month (2.9% + 30¢ up to US$ 899 and 3.9% + 30¢ above), on monthly billing. 14-day free trial.[29,30,31]

Verdict: Great for simplicity if you charge in dollars. To keep the members area on your own domain, with an API and an AI assistant on every plan, Memberfy fits better.

8. Kajabi

Best for: Selling courses, coaching and funnels with website, e-mail and checkout in one place, in dollars

What it does well

  • Native email marketing, funnels and landing pages.
  • A checkout with subscriptions, one-time and installment payments, upsells and order bumps, with no revenue share.
  • Your own domain on every plan.
  • An MCP server to run Kajabi from AI tools.

Limitations

  • Kajabi Payments exists only in some countries; elsewhere, Stripe and PayPal. PIX and boleto do not appear.
  • A 2,500-contact cap on Basic; webhooks from Growth and the API only on Pro.
  • Community is one part of the product: 1 community on Basic and Growth, 3 on Pro.

Pricing model

Basic US$ 143, Growth US$ 199 and Pro US$ 399 a month on annual billing; US$ 179, US$ 249 and US$ 499 monthly.[32,33]

Verdict: Strong for a course business in dollars. For anyone coming from MemberKit with the community at the center, Memberfy costs less and has more community spaces.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best MemberKit alternative?
For the members area and billing in one place, Memberfy: its own checkout, courses with hosted video, a community with 30 space types and an MCP server on every plan, from US$ 10 a month. If you want to keep your current checkout and only switch members areas, Cademí is the closest to MemberKit.
Does MemberKit take payments?
No. MemberKit’s help center says you need an external platform to receive payments online, such as Hotmart, Eduzz or Monetizze. Memberfy has its own checkout, with no gateway account, and access opens and closes with the payment; outside Brazil, charging your members in US dollars by card is still coming.
How much does MemberKit cost, and how much does Memberfy cost?
MemberKit publishes three plans: Essencial, R$ 197 a month for 1,000 members; Pro, R$ 497 for 5,000; and Escala, R$ 697 for 15,000 (R$ 1,970, R$ 4,970 and R$ 6,970 a year), plus the fee of the checkout you connect. Memberfy goes from US$ 10 to US$ 99 a month on annual billing, by number of members, plus 6.99% + US$ 1.00 per sale, payment processing included.
Which MemberKit alternative hosts videos?
Memberfy takes the lesson video on the platform itself, up to 500 MB, private. Kiwify hosts at no extra cost, Eduzz uses SafeVideo and Hotmart has its own player. On MemberKit, video lives on YouTube, Vimeo, Panda Video or another service.
Does Memberfy have affiliates, like Hotmart and Kiwify?
No. Memberfy has no affiliate program or co-production. If affiliates selling your course are your main source of sales, Hotmart and Kiwify fit better.
Which MemberKit alternative can I run with AI?
Memberfy has an MCP server with 959 tools on every plan: you connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and read and run the community by talking to it, with your role and a confirmation before anything touches money. MemberKit’s MCP server is read-only. Cademí also has an MCP server that runs the account; on Circle, MCP starts on Business, and Kajabi also offers MCP.
Can I move from MemberKit to Memberfy?
Members come in by spreadsheet, only those who consented, and courses are built in the app, with modules and lessons. Nobody can move a running subscription from the old checkout without the customer authorizing the charge again: that is agreed case by case, and we tell you how much work it is up front.

Create the account, set up the domain and the plans, build your first course and connect Claude or ChatGPT to run the community by talking to it.
