What Doity does well
- It is an event specialist: it says it has more than 300 thousand events created and 25 million registrations, from corporate and academic events to fairs, sports and religious events.
- Large-scale check-in: badges printed on arrival, a self-service kiosk and facial recognition.
- An event app in the stores, with its brand, agenda, networking and gamification.
- No monthly fee: a free event pays no fee.
When to choose each one
Choose Doity if
- the event is large and one-off, and check-in needs badges, a kiosk or facial recognition;
- you want an app in the stores with the event’s brand;
- your events are free or occasional, and you do not want to pay anything beyond sales.
Choose Memberfy if
- you run recurring events and want the audience to stay in the community between one and the next;
- you want the certificate only for those who checked in, with a public verification page;
- you want the platform to follow each attendee on its own: the reminder before, the thank-you after and the invitation to the next one;
- your tickets cost more, where Memberfy’s per-sale fee falls below Doity’s 10%.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does Doity charge?
- Doity charges no setup or monthly fee: it keeps 10% of each registration sold, and free registrations pay no fee, up to 500 per event on the standard plan. The event app, professional check-in and facial recognition are on request. On Memberfy, the monthly fee starts at US$ 10 and grows with the community, and the fee is 6.99% + US$ 1.00 per sale.
- Does Memberfy have check-in like Doity?
- It does: each confirmed attendee gets a ticket with a QR code, in the app and in the e-mail, and the team checks people in with a phone, using the camera, search or manual check-in, or leaves a tablet at the entrance that does it by itself. Memberfy does not print badges and has no kiosk or facial recognition; if your event needs that, Doity has it.
- Can I sell batches and half-price tickets?
- On both. On Memberfy, each ticket type (full price, half price, VIP, group) has its own seats and batches, which switch by date or when they sell out, and whoever buys for the team pays one order and sends each ticket by e-mail.
- What happens to the audience after the event?
- On Doity, the event app stays in the stores until 30 days after the end. On Memberfy, attendees are already members of the community: they stay in the feed, hear about the next events and can follow a workflow, such as the thank-you for attending the next day.
We are inviting the first communities.
